Nokia Windows 7 concept phones....

Nokia  announced their strategic partnership with Microsoft, where both the companies were aiming to save themselves. It was quit unexpected, that Nokia couldn’t see MeeGo as their winning samrt phone platform but it certain that their attention has all turned towards the US market and hence this decision. Coming to the concept, just after hours of announcement this concept phone by these two companies has already been making rounds.
This might just be the way future Nokia phones running Windows Phone 7 look. Though this is just a concept, it has Nokia design elements(sweet). And the feature lacking Windows Phone 7 OS(atleast in the current state before the firmware update) (bitter). Though the phone sure looks gorgeous, this may or may not be made into a working model. But all that we can do is sit and watch. They must now bring the phones to market as soon as they can or the competition will just get tougher than what they would have expected.
There were also talks that both the firms were already working on a Windows based smartphone. Lets see how they roll.

Nokia T7 Leaked... ...

A few days earlier, we brought to you a post which confirmed the existence of the Nokia T7. The phone in the above picture is the T7.
From the pictures, the design of the T7 is very similar to the Nokia N8. It in fact seems to be a cheaper variant of the N8 and will most likely be a China only variant. The phone in the leaked picture seems to have a China Mobile branding.
The differences from the original N8 include:
  • 8 megapixel camera with Dual-LED Flash (Not whether it has Autofocus or EDOF)
  • The raised camera module is now flush in the casing
  • microUSB Port Changes it’s Location from the Left to the Top and Replaces the HDMI port
  • The phone in the picture seems to be a Gold/Beige variant
The phone says SCDMA/GSM at the bottom so we cannot completely confirm that this is a China only variant. This might also however end up being a Chinese clone of the Nokia N8 especially since it saws T7 on the front and NSeries on the back.
The only thing that puts us in doubt is the China Mobile logo as Nokia usually release various China only mobile phones under their network. So the logo confusion could also be due to the fact that the device is a prototype. Let’s wait and see.

Iphone BANNED in US........Nokia Patent Case... ...

Nokia scored a huge point against Apple in their ongoing court battles. The US International Trade Commission ruled that the Cupertino-based company has infringed a number of Nokia patents relating to mobile phones, computers and music players and has banned the sales of the Apple products in the US.
The products in question are the iOS-running Apple iPad (both versions), iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and the iPod Touch. Their sales within the US have been suspended indefinitely and Apple is facing a heavy fine, which is yet to be announced. Experts believe that it will be between $1 billion and $2 billion.
Apple still has the right to appeal the decision, but there have been very few prior cases, where ITC decisions have been altered.
Effectively this means that unless Apple and Nokia sign a Patent License Agreement, US citizens won't be able to buy new iOS devices until Apple comes up with solutions on their own for the patented technologies. So far both companies have refused to comment on the possibility of signing such an agreement.
There's also no saying if Nokia will try to get a similar sales ban for the Apple products in Europe.
Anyway we'll keep track on the development of the case - stay tuned for more updates. And if you were going to purchase an iOS device you might want to act swiftly or you may miss you chance for quite some time to come.

Blackberry Touch Monaco/Monza Leaked... ...

The phone in the picture above is the latest full touchscreen device from Blackberry that has just been leaked. It is known as the Touch Monaco/Monza.
The smartphone  will be known by both names. The different names indicate the region and operator. It will be launched as the Monaco on the Verizon Wireless network in USA while the Monza is the global GSM version.
The phone does away with the SurePress technology featured in the Storm devices that wasn’t very user friendly. The device might not even belong to the Storm family of Blackberry mobiles.
The phone will run on Blackberry 6.1 OS and will need a Blackberry ID rather than a Blackberry PIN to login to the system. The advantage is that it makes backing up data and restoring it much easier.
The phone should be announced in a few months. Nothing more is known about the dewvice. We will keep you informed as new information appears.
