We already reported that changes were coming to the Android Market. On Wednesday, some models started receiving the updated online applications store which now includes videos for rental and books for purchase along with the usual number of apps and games for you to download. A colorful new UI helps you navigate the Market and downloads are divided into a number of different categories.Video rentals include a star-based rating system, a synopsis of the plot, cast and crew, a short video preview, reviews and related titles. Different genres like Drama, Action and Adventure, Comedy, Horror and others are listed. Rentals start at $1.99. Book categories include Fiction, Children's, Horror and more and include a description of the book and a free sample. Pricing varies.
The new UI, which can be confusing at first, allows users to see 12 apps or game titles at one time, which might speed up your "window shopping" in the Android Market. Overseas Android owners, be patient as the updated Android Market is heading your way.
